iPhone 16 Black Friday Price: How Much Will It Cost This Year?

Updated on | 11 mins read

Apple still sells one iPhone 16 model new, and it's the base phone. The Plus, Pro and Pro Max are no longer in Apple's lineup, so what you pay for them on Black Friday (Friday, Nov 27, with Cyber Monday on Nov 30) depends on who is selling. Here is what we know so far. Apple hasn't said anything about Black Friday 2026 yet, so every forecast here leans on what happened last year and could change.

Apple's own price for the iPhone 16 is $829 for the unlocked 128GB model, and last Black Friday Apple handed out gift cards instead of cutting that price. Apple no longer sells the iPhone 16 Plus, 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max new, so lower prices on those come from retailers' remaining stock, carrier bill credits and pre-owned sellers. On Oct 22, 2026, a Plug Certified iPhone 16 started at $604.99 and an iPhone 16 Pro Max at $788.99.

The Short Answer: What an iPhone 16 Costs This Black Friday

Right now, a Plug Certified iPhone 16 costs less than Apple's new one, and Apple doesn't sell the other three models at all. The Plug prices below were read from the iPhone 16 series collection on Oct 22, 2026. They're in-stock, unlocked phones, and prices move daily, so check the live price before you buy.

Model Apple's price new (Oct 22, 2026) Plug Certified, from
iPhone 16 $829 (128GB, unlocked) $604.99 (128GB, Great)
iPhone 16 Plus No longer sold by Apple $588.99 (128GB, Good)
iPhone 16 Pro No longer sold by Apple $625.99 (128GB, Good)
iPhone 16 Pro Max No longer sold by Apple $788.99 (256GB, Good)
iPhone 16e No longer sold by Apple $404.99 (128GB, Great)

Yes, the 16 Plus in Good condition costs less than the base iPhone 16 in Great condition. That's the grade at work. The grade only describes how the phone looks. Plug devices are all fully tested and carry the same 12-Month Plug Warranty, whatever the grade.

Apple's Black Friday Offer: A Gift Card, Not a Lower Price

Apple doesn't cut iPhone prices for Black Friday. Last year it ran a four-day event, Nov 28 to Dec 1, 2025, and gave an Apple Gift Card with purchase instead: $75 with an iPhone 16 or 16 Plus.

This means the price on Apple's tag stayed the same. You got store credit to spend later, which helps most if you already plan to buy something else from Apple.

The bigger change since then is the lineup. As of Oct 22, 2026, Apple's iPhone page lists the iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17e and iPhone 16. The 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max and 16e aren't on it.

So a "new" iPhone 16 Pro on a Black Friday listing comes from a retailer's remaining stock. Reading the condition word in the listing (new, renewed, pre-owned) comes before any price comparison.

Where the Real Drops Come From

The iPhone 16 Black Friday deals worth looking at come from three places, and each one gives you a different kind of discount:

Retailers: Last year, one news report put Best Buy's unlocked 128GB iPhone 16 at $679.99 on Nov 19, 2025. On Nov 24, 2025, Amazon's Renewed Premium line (refurbished phones Amazon sells and ships) listed the iPhone 16 Pro 128GB at $743 against a $999 list price. This means the biggest savings in deal roundups and guides are often not on new phones, so check the conditions in each listing.

Carriers: The "free iPhone" offers are bill credits. The carrier takes a set amount off your bill each month, usually for about 36 months, and you generally need a new line or an eligible plan. Think of it as a coupon paid out slowly: if you leave early, the rest of the coupon disappears and the remaining phone balance is due. AT&T's 2025 holiday terms put the iPhone 16 128GB at $7.99 a month after 36 monthly credits, on an eligible Unlimited plan. Over 36 months, that's $287.64 for the phone, plus the plan itself. Before signing, add up what carrier deals cost over two years compared with buying unlocked.

Plug Certified: An iPhone that has passed Plug's 90+ Point Inspection, with battery health of 80% or higher, unlocked for any carrier, and backed by the 12-Month Plug Warranty and 30-day returns. You pay once, and no plan comes attached.

A Fair Price for Each iPhone 16 Model

A fair price depends on the model, the storage and the condition, so judge each phone against its own numbers. All Plug prices here were read on Oct 22, 2026, and they move.

iPhone 16

Apple's $829 for the unlocked 128GB model is the top of the range. A Plug Certified 128GB iPhone 16 was $604.99 in Great condition and $634.99 in Excellent. The $679.99 retailer price reported last year was for a new phone, so a new iPhone 16 near that figure again would be a real cut on Apple's price. Anything close to $829 isn't a Black Friday price.

iPhone 16 Plus

The Plus is the larger-screen version of the base iPhone 16. At Plug, the 128GB was $588.99, $618.99 and $648.99 (Good, Great, Excellent), and the 256GB was $624.99, $654.99 and $684.99. We couldn't find a dated Black Friday price for a new, unlocked 16 Plus from last year, so hold it up against the base model instead: a 256GB Plus in Good condition cost less than Apple's 128GB iPhone 16.

iPhone 16 Pro

The Pro 128GB was $625.99 in Good condition and $685.99 in Excellent. The 512GB was $754.99 and $823.99. For comparison, last year's Black Friday refurbished price at Amazon was $743 for the 128GB and $784 for the 256GB. This means a Good-condition 128GB Pro at Plug was already below that figure in October.

iPhone 16 Pro Max

The Pro Max is the bigger of the two Pro models. At Plug, the 256GB was $788.99, $818.99 and $848.99 (Good, Great, Excellent), and the 512GB was $867.99 in Good and $897.99 in Great.

If you want the lowest price in the family, the iPhone 16e started at $404.99 for 128GB in Great condition.

Three Checks That Keep a Low Price Honest

A low price only counts if the phone is in the condition you think it is. Here is how to check three things before you pay:

1. Battery Health

The number to find is Maximum Capacity, under Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging. Think of it as the size of the fuel tank, not how full it is today: a phone at 80% holds about four-fifths of the charge it held new. Apple says batteries in iPhone 15 models are designed to keep 80% of their original capacity at 1,000 complete charge cycles under ideal conditions. Older models are rated at 500. Every Plug Certified phone ships with battery health of 80% or higher.

2. Carrier Lock

Go to Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock. "No SIM restrictions" means the phone is unlocked and works with any carrier. If it shows anything else, only the carrier can remove the lock, which matters if you plan to switch.

3. What the Seller Promises

The terms matter as much as the price. Look for a warranty, a return window, a stated battery floor and the seller's reviews. A phone from a private seller is usually sold as-is. A Plug Certified iPhone comes with the 12-Month Plug Warranty, which covers hardware and software faults under normal use (not accidental damage), plus 30-day returns.

When to Buy: Now, Black Friday or Cyber Monday

Buy when the price in front of you beats last year's numbers, not because of the day on the calendar. What's known: Black Friday is Nov 27, Cyber Monday is Nov 30, and last year Apple's event ran from Friday through Monday. What isn't known: any 2026 offer from Apple, retailers or carriers.

Our prediction, from last year's pattern, is that Apple will offer a gift card again rather than a lower iPhone 16 price. That leaves the start of real savings with retailers, carriers and pre-owned sellers. Our guide to how much iPhones drop on Black Friday covers every model, not just this one.

If you're set on an iPhone 16, pick the model, storage and condition now, and write down today's price. Then follow up on Nov 27 and Nov 30 and compare it against the figures above. A pre-owned phone's price moves with the market, so waiting for one particular day doesn't guarantee a lower number, and the best price is the one that clears all three checks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will iPhone prices drop on Black Friday?

No, not at Apple. Last year Apple's offer skipped its latest phones: the iPhone 17 models and iPhone Air got no gift card at all, the iPhone 16e got $50, and the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus got $75. If you want one of the newest models for less, a retailer or carrier offer is the more likely route.

Will there be a discount on iPhone 16 on Black Friday?

Most likely, though nobody has announced one yet. Watch the fine print on carrier offers: a phone financed through AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon is usually locked to that carrier, and Apple notes that only your current carrier can unlock your iPhone. That means a carrier discount can also tie you to that carrier for the length of the payments. Our guide to unlocked iPhone 16 Black Friday deals covers the pay-once route.

Is the iPhone 16 going to drop in price?

Not at Apple so far. You may see "from $799" on Apple's store, but that figure applies only when you connect the phone to a carrier at checkout. The unlocked 128GB model, which you can use with any carrier later, is $829. Apple hasn't announced any change to either price.

Will the iPhone 16 Pro Max get cheaper?

It already has, away from Apple. Last Black Friday week, a refurbished 256GB Pro Max sold by Amazon cost $869, down from a $1,199 list price, and the 512GB was $958. Those were refurbished phones, not new ones, so hold any 2026 Pro Max offer up against those figures and the storage size.

Is a carrier "free iPhone" deal really free?

No. The phone is paid for with monthly credits, and the term isn't always 36 months: T-Mobile used 24 months on one no-trade iPhone 16 Pro offer. AT&T's 2025 terms also said credits could take up to three billing cycles to start, so check your first few bills against what you were promised.
