iPad Trade-In Value: What Is Your iPad Worth?

Start with the family. iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad mini and the standard iPad are priced in separate ranges. Within a family the generation matters most, since each newer chip and display moves an iPad up the table. Storage raises the value inside a generation, and a cellular model can be priced differently from a Wi-Fi only one. Condition finishes the job: a clear screen, straight frame and a battery that lasts the day keep the offer at the top of its range.

Open Settings, then General, then About. The Model Name and Capacity lines are what the estimate needs. iPads of different generations can look almost the same, so the model name is more reliable than the case. If it only shows a model number that starts with the letter A, look that number up on Apple's support page to get the generation.

Also note whether yours has a SIM tray or cellular data, since it changes which option you pick.

Older generations, especially early iPad mini and standard iPad models, may not have an offer at all. The table lists the generations Plug currently prices, and a row that says to see your offer means the amount is shown in the estimate. If your generation is not listed, start an estimate anyway: the estimate is the final word on whether your exact model is accepted right now.

Tablets tend to lose value in steps, when a new generation replaces the one before it, and older generations fall out of the table altogether at some point. If you have stopped using your iPad, or you already own a newer one, checking now is safer than waiting. If it is still your daily reading or drawing screen, keep it, and check again when you are ready.
