📱 Apple iOS 18 Update: What You Need to Know

On June 10, 2024, Apple officially announced iOS 18 at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). This new update brings exciting new features, enhanced privacy, and deeper personalization. However, it also marks the end of major software support for several older iPhone models.

❌ iPhones No Longer Receiving iOS Updates

The following iPhones are no longer eligible for major iOS updates:

  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone X

These devices, released in 2017, are powered by the A11 Bionic chip and will continue to receive limited security updates for a period—but they will not support iOS 18 or future iOS versions.

✅ iPhones Still Supported

All iPhone models supported by iOS 17—excluding the models above—will continue to receive the iOS 18 update. That includes the iPhone XR, XS, and later models.

🔒 What This Means for You

  • Your device will still function normally.
  • You'll continue to receive security patches for a limited time.
  • Some apps may begin to require newer iOS versions over time.

To enjoy the latest features and updates, we recommend upgrading to a newer iPhone model.
